I took my 3.5 year old son and 8 year old nephew to the show. I really enjoyed the show and thought it was cleverly produced. It was very colourful and had a lot of fun choreography. There was a great mixture of music and different acts. Whilst we loved coming to the show, it didn’t have as much of the ‘wow’ factor that the 8 year old boy loves (ie trapeze and rope in the air type acts). In retrospect I think it would have been better to take him to the Flea Circus show and the younger group to this show. There wasn’t a lot of dialogue, so I think toddlers would love the show. I now see that the colourful brochure says ‘all ages’ but on the info it says 5-12. I know it must be difficult to come up with age recommendations, but I think audiences would be bigger if a lot of the shows were listed as all ages.
Hi Nick, thanks for your awesome feedback. I’ll keep that in mind for next year. We try really hard to list our shows for relevant ages… i.e., some shows are 0 to 8, some workshops 9 to 12, etc. We’ll try and be more detailed next year. Cheers!
Thanks for putting together such an amazing and original show! Fantastic costumes, well directed, excellent humour, and well practised tricks. It’s clear that a lot of thought and energy has gone into the Bangin Big Top Bam Bam circus. Can we run away with you?
“I loved the hat juggling best – I’ve never seen that before”. Willa
Two talented, entertaining and clever performers. Great music. Lots of fun and quirky humour throughout – a great show for young and old, something for everyone. A highlight of the festival, thank you Jo
I didn’t know what to expect from this show, but I was pleasantly surprised. My 5-year-old was enthralled by the Charlie Chaplin-inspired humour, bright colours, puppets and dancing, as was I. But what impressed me the most was the artistic direction. This was no amateur collection of hula hoop stunts and bottom jokes. The costumes were fantastic and the characters were memorable. Additionally, the music this duo have selected for their performance was outstanding, and the choreography to go with it was extremely clever and professionally executed, more reminiscent of Cirque de Soleil than Circus Oz. It was quirky, original, at times ridiculous, and thoroughly entertaining. Bravo.
